Club and Theatre Veteran Brings Her Songs Back to Atherton Studio January 11
Roz Cohen returns to the Atherton Studio with “Bossa, Broadway, Borsht, and All That Jazz.” Music veterans Josh Kaye (piano), Ernie Provencher (bass), Bill Noble (woodwind) and Jerome James (percussion and drums) join the charming and witty vocalist for an evening of timeless music and shtick. Saturday January 11 at 7:30 p.m. in HPR’s Atherton Studio. Reservations may be made online at www.hprtickets.org or by calling the station (955-8821) during regular business hours. Tickets are $30 general, $25 for HPR members, and $15 for students with ID. The Atherton Studio is located at Hawaii Public Radio, 738 Kaheka Street.
Roz Cohen is a sultry, sassy songstress, bringing her unique talent and humor in song interpretation and live entertainment back to HPR’s Atherton. Professionally singing, dancing, and acting from a young age, Roz has performed along the East Coast in nightclubs, dinner theaters, and professional stages, including Washington, D.C.’s Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
Having raised her children and enjoyed careers in healthcare and music in Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii, Roz is delighted to live now on Oahu. As Roz sings comfortably in French, Yiddish, and English, she can transport you to Piaf’s Paris, Brice’s Borsht Belt, the New York Broadway stage, and the San Francisco cabaret scene. Roz and her colleagues are sure to delight you with an evening of “Bossa, Broadway, Borscht, and All That Jazz.”
About HPR’s Atherton Performing Arts Studio
The Atherton Studio seats 75 people and is home to a magnificent Bösendorfer concert grand piano. The Studio is available for rent for musical performances, community group meetings, and lectures. It is located in the HPR office and studio complex at 738 Kaheka Street, across from the Honolulu Don Quijote. Metered street parking is available, as are paid lots at the First Hawaiian Bank (Kapi‘olani branch) and in the Pan Am building.
