Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center is honored to collaborate with Lynn Shue of Village Galleries to present New Directions: A Village Gallery Showcase. This invitational exhibition features the work of over 20 Maui artists represented by Village Galleries, a fixture of Lahaina town since 1970 tragically lost in the recent Lahaina fire. Celebrating the strength and resilience of Maui artists, this exhibition stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Village Galleries and the unwavering spirit of the Maui arts community.

Pacific Whale Foundation wishes you a happy World Ocean Day! Come join in on the fun at the Maʻalaea Harbor Shops for this public event on June 8 from 10am - 2 pm. The PWF Education Team will have fun, educational games, a face painter and live music! There will also be raffled prizes from local businesses, toys and PacWhale ecotour vouchers.
Additional Details: Parking is free for kamaʻāina in the Maui Ocean Center and Maʻalaea Harbor Shops parking lot. Make sure to follow kamaʻāina parking instructions on the signage located throughout the lot. Georgy Gusev: "The Lost Cello"Saturday, June 8th at 7:30pmInternationally acclaimed cellist and composer Georgy Gusev returns to Maui after nearly a year to debut his one-man show, "The Lost Cello."
"The Lost Cello" tells the captivating story of Euro-Asian history and cultures, thought the prism of Meastro Gusev's personal cello - the family treasure. Crafted in St. Petersburg in 1911 for Meastro Gusev's great-grandfather, this cello wast lost for over 70 years after the October Bolshevik revolution. Found by Meastro Gusev's mother and many years later brought all the way to Maui by Meastro Gusev himself to tell the story of love, betrayal, seduction, inspiration, lost, reunion... "The Lost Cello" is a musical play filled with poetry and original music performed on Cello and Piano both by Georgy Gusev.

Show of Song and Talking Story with George Kahumoku Jr., Grammy Award-winning Hawaiian musician specializing in slack-key guitar, featured regularly at Maui’s renowned “Slack Key Show®.”Four-time Grammy-winner, master slack key guitarist GEORGE KAHUMOKU JR, known as “Hawai‘i’s Renaissance Man”, is a multiple Na Hōkū Hanohano (Hawaiian Grammy) Award winner, a vocalist, storyteller, songwriter & author, teacher, sculptor, farmer, and chef. He is the producer and star of the weekly Slack Key Show© on Maui, now celebrating nearly 20 years.
