Readers of All Ages are invited to join the Hawaii State Public Library System's Summer Reading Challenge from June 1 – July 31, 2024! This summer’s theme is "E Heluhelu Kākou; Moʻolelo", and Hawaii’s public libraries will be celebrating the rich and varied stories that shape our communities.
If you join and log minutes, you will be entered into a drawing for a grand prize of four roundtrip tickets on Alaska Airlines to travel and build your own new stories!

Support the protection of marine animals while enjoying inspiring films featuring the beauty of the underwater world, indigenous ecological knowledge and the community of Maui.
Select films will be presented at OCEAN Organic Farm & Distillery on June 6, with dinner and cocktails included in the ticket price. VIP tickets are available and feature an ocean ecotour with the filmmakers and table seating at the event.
Can’t make it June 6? For a small donation of $25 to the organization, you can watch the selection of thirteen films at your leisure online from June 8 (World Ocean Day) to July 31 at pacificwhale.org/filmfest.

Aloha Friday cultural demonstrations are held every Friday, from 11 am – 1 pm on the porch of Volcano Art Center Gallery in Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park. This month’s offerings include: 1st Fridays - Lei making with Kaipo Ah Chong, 2nd Fridays - kapa stamping with Desiree Moana Cruz. 3rd Fridays - ʻukulele with Wes Awana, and 4th Fridays - Lauhala Weaving with Kuʻuipo Morales.
