Maui Humane Society Straining at Capacity With 396 Adoptable Animals

Maui Humane Society

The Maui Humane Society’s animal population has surged to critical capacity.

The pandemic forced many families to give up their pets, the organizations said. The number of strays has also multiplied exponentially over the course of a month.

The humane society is currently housing nearly 400 dogs, cats, and other small animals. The organization said 86 animals had to be flown to a mainland shelter this past month to make more space.

The shelter is urging residents who are considering adoption to act now before the hot summer months. To browse the available animals and make an appointment, go to the Maui Humane Society website or call 808-877-3680.
